Loïc Le Groumellec was born 1957 in Vannes, (Brittany) and he graduated in 1980 from the École de Beaux-Arts in Rennes. Three years later, in 1983, Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris showed the first solo exhibition of his work. Loïc Le Groumellec’s works are included in prestigious private collections, as well as the CAPC (Centre of Contemporary Visual Arts) collection of the Musée d'art contemporain in Bordeaux, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and the Musée d’art Moderne de la Ville in Paris. His works have been exhibited in several important international institutions including the Nouveau Musée National in Monaco, the Institut Français in Cologne (Germany), the Fondation de l’Hermitage in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Musée d’art contemporain in Montréal (Canada), and the  “Fundació Joan Miró” in Barcelona (Spain). Galerie Karsten Greve has represented the artist since 1989. Loïc Le Groumellec lives and works in Paris.
